A Great Reason to Buy Compact Discs
An alternative to tapes for music to be recorded on was the reason compact discs were made. The tape was much harder to use than the newer disc. You needed to listen all the way through a tape. There was no way to tell exactly where one song ended and the other began, which made it very hard to skip any. The amount of music they could hold was small compared to compact discs.
